Digital reworkings

Foreword  |  permission

At the end of the process of constructing a generative image, the associated BMP file lends itself to various reworking activities using either dedicated routines or common photo editing software available on the market. Such activities are of little or no interest to Turlon who is conversely solely focused on the generative aspects of pure forms. Despite the total control of the software over the color, the chromatic choices on the artworks have a secondary role for him and, in the case of those present in the gallery, are often simply dictated by criteria of display homogeneity in exhibitions or conferences. Partial exceptions to post-generation reworkings are some compositions of pure forms (see examples in geomtopes , oscitopes  and logitopes ) and, by definition, works categorized among morftopes .   In the latter case, the generation of forms, which cannot be obtained with common photo editing software , is a specific research objective.

Pictorial-like reworkings

Due to its original purity and fineness, an original generative file is particularly suitable for being reused for the purpose of an aesthetic reinterpretation aimed at simulating pictorial-like effects, techniques and styles. The above also applies in the case of files associated with images on the site despite JPG resizing and compression. As an example, the following selections show some reinterpretations that can be obtained starting from one of the downloadable images relating to a 4D hypersphere.

Given the foreword, it goes without saying that the key aspect for Turlon is not to chromatize or reinterpret the hypersphere but to design and generate it. All simulations were made with Microsoft® PhotoDraw™ 2000¹.
